IBS JULY SKETCH CHALLNGE.

I thought that I would try a Sketch Challenge with Inspired by Stamping .  I am in the throws of making 3 sets of 5 coordinating cards which are come in boxes that coordinate with the cards.

I have used kaisercraft paper 'On this day' for 2 of the sets so far. I was inspired by sketch 1 to make this card for one of the sets.  I have used a sentiment stamps from one of Joanna's sets. I just love her stamps are they are a beautiful high quality clear stamp and they have loads of swirls on them. The sticky on them is awesome.  The sentiment and the flourish in the circle are in gold heat embossed to add a richness to the card. I used Marianne  and a Memory Box dies and a MFT doily die.

Mojo monday 299

It has been a few weeks since I have entered in a MM challenge.

So here is 1 for this week.



As you can see from the image below of the card I made.

I did the sqaure card.  I have used Graphic 45 images from the Secret garden series.

The doily is a Spellbinders Persian Motif. The flowers are made by using a punch and have 2 layers.  The ferns are from a Memory Box dies Delicate fern.

Spellbinders storage.

I spent yesterday trying to workout a better storage system for my Spellbinders die rather then thrown in a drawer or a container.  As I am a cheap skate (don't like to spend money were I don't have too) I came up with the idea to use zip lock bags in a folder.  I already had a A6 folder I just needed to make the bags a bit narrower to take the dies with the cardboard they are on.  So I cut and sewed for a while and it looks wonderful. I now have about 12 sets of dies in the folder and it doesn't take up to much room.  I am so pleased with the process that I will do the same with my other thin dies.

Three challenges

For the Mo's challenge Schools out. The image made me remember holidays as child for myself. My birthday is during the summer holidays so time was spent with the cat when we were not at the beach camping. Also everyone else was away so I had parties with the cat and my friends were away.

IBSIC #54 White, yellow and green

I have been busy of late.
Tidying up our house and yard so have not had much time to create anything.
But I did make a card for a friend who has a friend who is very sick.
I was lucky that I could use it for this challenge.

The dog is a   Mo's digital pencil image and the girl who orginally had a ballon is a Saturated Canary image.

I have used glossy accents on her eyes.

 I know I found it very challenging to keep it simple. Then clean.   So I went with minimal.

 

 

I found that I liked the look of nothing to distract from the image that Mo had drawn.

The image is 'did you hear'.

Challenge #183 - Anything Goes

Well another week has past and Mo has another challenge for us.
I have been busy making cards to sell at the local markets so selected one for this challenge.

I have used Christmas Kai and coloured him in using Zig markers.
I like been able to use my water pen to blend the ink on the images.
I have used a white glitter on the furry part of his coat and gold kiddy glitter on his pjs and on the ribbon wrapped around the parcel.

Mos challenge blog and Scrapbbok Boutique

This is my first entry onto Mos blog.

I took a close up shot of the card as I used stickles frosted lace on the wings, lacey under garments and the hair ties of the image.

I have used Spectrum Noir to colour the images. The bees and the butterfly are suspended on thin wire to give the effect of flight.

Mojo Monday

Another week has gone by and the weather is rain of some description every day.
I think that I am very much over rain now.  I could do with a drought and some nice warm sun.
Below is the sketch for this weeks challenge.

It took me a while to get some inspiration but it came in the end.
I colored the image with my new Spectrum Noir markers.  The tips are not as fine as my Zig photo markersand it is very challenging to do the blending.  I think I am getting the hang of it though.  The image is from Sassy Studio.  The back ground paper is from Minds eye Lost and found 2.

Ibsic#52

Well I have been busy doing other things other then making cards for a challenge.
I felt that I needed to clear my head from cards for a while.
So we have started to finish our wardrobe shelving.  I have also start to alter a jewelery box that has 3 draws to it. And generally just surfed the net doing research as we do. Hahahaha (wasting creative time maybe).

Here is my entry for the Ibsic #52 challenge.

I have Letterpress and embossed the kraft paper.

And used a blue organsa ribbon on the card. And put sage green rhinestones on the flowers. 

I wanted to keep it very simple.

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #51

I some times think that a week is not long enough to get everything done, that I would like to get done.  And this has been one of those weeks.  7 days is not enough for a week, why can't we change it?

I live in SE Queenslands and the last few weeks the weather is shocking. It rains in varing degrees each day. Not normal for us. Give me the sun please for longer then just half an hour each time. It gets hard to do any thing. 

Thats my gripe for the month.  Well maybe the last 2 months. HAHAHA

Mojo Monday

We spent some time with my sister in Brisbane for a while.
And I got the chance to go shopping. Who doesn't love to do that.
My better half and I have a wedding to go to later in the year in NZ.
Its the daughters wedding.  So first things first a suit and everything that goes with it for that wonderful man in my life.  Got that sorted, then my turn.  But not for a wedding outfit, that is sorted.
I went craft shopping and had a ball.  Just not enough money for everything.  Next time.

But anyway on to the main issue.  Challenges. 
Here is my entry for Mojo Monday 283.
This is the sketch.

Here is my take on it. I use a cream base card and topped it with light grey paper then a light cream embossed tissue paper.
I have made for a grandmothers mothers day card.
The dragonfly and butterflies have been punched from vellum in grey and gold.

Here is my interpation of the colour challenge.

I used a Pink Paislee range of paper called Butterfly garden.

A green and white dot paper for the background layer and a sheet of dictionary paper. I inked the edges of all the papers. I used a chocolate brown cardstock for the mounts of each layer.

MFT dies where used for the doilies.  The foliage I cut from Cricut. And punched out butterflies then put tiny pink rhinestones on the brown butterflies. The pink edged flower was in my stash.

I used paper from the Prima Botanical collection. As there are dragonflies on some of the paper I cut a couple out using vellum with my Cricut.
I also cut the foliage using my Cricut. I used 2 flat flowers from my stash and inked the edges, then put seven 2mm light yellow flat pearls in the centre. I used some cotten lace for the angled strip. Used a Fiskers border punch for the white trim.

It is the start of a new month. So it is contest week.

To play along I have to make a project using the provided sketch.

I thought I would try my hand at a monochome card.

Well almost!  I have a wedding  later this year so I am trying out several different styles for a card.

Below is my first attempt.

I have used silver as a theme colour with white.  I embossed the back white mount and also the vertical white strip. I added a wee bit of colour to some of the foliage by the white flower, which I put a silver dimante on. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver.

Wow the weeks keep going fast.  Time is just slipping away from me.

I have used Graphic 45 paper. Sorry I only know I used some from the Courosity shop. And dont know the other ones, as I used scraps from stash.

I have several layers in this card and enjoyed stretching myself to use as many layers as possible. 

I made the card with a male in mind who is into biking.

The challenge was to was to use the photo as inspiration. Using the colours yellow, green and white.  I struggled with it trying to use the photo as a guide to design a card.  I ended up making this card.  It was my first attempt at colouring a stamped image.
I am quite proude of it.


I am disappointed now.  Its 7.40pm EAST 3/01/2012  and I am to o late to post this entry.  I thought they finished on the 31st Jan at midnight.  Oh well on ward to next months challenge.
